About Treadmills Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home. From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface. While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

FITS THE BILL August 28, 2010 JAMES J. WHITE (HOLLAND, PA., US) Replaced a larger Treadmill with this model. Features are limited however it takes up less space and is relatively quiet.Max speed is 4 miles per hour which is plenty for this 75 year old.Biggest selling point was the ease in assembling. Reviews said 20 minutes and they were on the money. The price was also a prime consideration.
poor packing August 27, 2010 Dean 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was the third shipment refused because of carton damage. As I previously reported, looked like it had gone thru a meat grinder.
Exercise equipment August 23, 2010 Bonnie Floyd (Tennessee) This is an EXCELLENT purchase. Although the item required more assembly than I had hoped for, the end product is extremely reasonably priced. Without all the whistles and gadgets that the more expensive treadmills brag about, this treadmill gives you a constant readout of your speed and time, has safety features, and a good walking tread. I am extremely pleased with this purchase. It arrived in a timely manner and as described.
Treadmill OK, Shipping Hassle August 8, 2010 Sandra A. Madison 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The treadmill itself is OK... It's nothing fancy but works as advertised and it's pretty quiet, which I appreciate. As other reviewers have noted, the walking belt is rather short, and my foot hits the back roller if I stray from one precise spot on the belt. (I'm 5' 7" with a short stride). I'd also like the belt to be a bit wider, as it's hard to swing my arms without hitting the handrails. Conversely, the size and position of the handrails make it easy and comfortable to walk while holding on, if that's what you prefer. My plan is to keep this treadmill for a year and then upgrade to a better model if I find that I use it every day.
The shipping is what makes this almost not worth the purchase. The box is incredibly flimsy, and as such, the first treadmill I received was damaged. I had to disassemble it and "repackage" it, which essentially means somehow holidng the treadmill parts and thin cardboard together with two whole rolls of strapping tape, not to mention taking a second day off work to wait for UPS.
On the replacement treadmill I received, one of the handrail bolt knobs was cracked, leaving it jagged and sharp enough to cut me. The bolts that hold the computer to the treadmill were missing, as was the instruction booklet. Amazon tried to get me to pack up and return this treadmill too, but I refused to go through that a second time. Fortunately, Paradigm shipped the missing parts to me directly.
The bottom line is that this item is well priced for being an electric treadmill...but you get what you pay for.
Great value July 13, 2010 Allan R. Shindel (Bull Shoals, Ar.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I needed a treadmill for a small room, and one that I could afford. This one fits the bill perfectly.I could have paid a lot more for larger units, but I think this is the best value for my needs. It's easy to operate, the display is easy to read, and, probably best of all, it needs absolutely no tools to assemble. It doesn't raise in the front to increase the incline, but then, that wasn't a feature I really wanted. I got exactly what I paid for, just a good, simple, and enjoyable piece of exercise equipment I foresee using for many years to come.
