About Treadmills Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home. From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface. While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain. Running is fun again!!! September 3, 2010 Clint (Virginia Beach, VA United States) I have had problems just getting out there and exercising, time, traffic, etc. Every time I go to the gym, all the machines are taken. I wanted my own equipment. I did some research and read the reviews of others. I liked what I read and I liked the price. My treadmill came in today. I cannot believe it took me this long to make this purchase. This machine will give the machines in the gyms a run for the money. This thing will pay for itself in just a few months. No gym fees, loss of time, or gas. Love it. It was a bonus to find that it has a fan that blows on you while exercising and the built in speaker is great, no more headphones!!! Highly recommend this purchase.
Ok. I've had the treadmill for 4 days. It is so nice to get on it when you want, you can watch what you want while exercising, or listen to what you want. I have run every day since I've had it. I used to get aggravated trying to jog in a high traffic community where people aren't looking or just don't care. The treadmill has a nice wide belt with good running length as well. The cushioning is really amazing and the controls are a cinch to operate.
GREAT PURCHASE..... Extremely Happy With My New Treadmill August 11, 2010 Latra T. Rogers 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purposely waited one full week after I setup the Horizon T101 to post a review of this treadmill because I really wanted to see how it functioned and operated after my weekly routine. I jog about 40 miles per week.
Before I purchased the Horizon T101 treadmill I read and re-read all of the previous postings about others' experiences with the Horizon T101 treadmill. I read all of the good and especially all of the bad experiences on Amazon and else where. I visited horizon's website and I eventually went to a sports outlet near me to look at the treadmill. I even had the chance to jog on the treadmill while I was there.
These postings were invaluable and highly instrumental in my decision of selecting a replacement treadmill. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with all of us potential buyers. Now that I have purchased this treadmill I want to share my experiences for others as well.
Without question this was a TERRIFIC PURCHASE! It arrived on time. There was no damage to the package. SURPRISINGLY..... it was extremely easy to assemble. .. Everything fit so well together. It took me about 40 minutes to set it up (TREMENDOUS GRIN)
With that said, it took me two and half hours to figure out how to lube the treadmill... the directions and illustration in the owners manual was extremely poor. When I called Horizon's customer service line they were on a 4 hour picnic break and were not available to take incoming calls.... so needless to say by the time they called me back I had taken off the motor and rear bolt covers and I really got the opportunity to see how my treadmill functions. So I have mixed emotions about them not being available when I needed them because I really got to know how this treadmill works.
As far as the treadmill. I LOVE IT! I enjoy the quiet motor. The treadmill is smooth and glides effortlessly under my feet. I enjoy the level of cushion I feel under me feet. The ipod adapter and speakers are FANTASTIC! As I run I like to get lost in great music or a wonderful Dean Koontz's novel. The treadmill is very functional and is easy to use. Transitions between various speeds and inclines are smooth and seamless. I like to push my workouts and this treadmill works well with my goals. For the money this is an awesome deal... if you are remotely handy with the tools they supply don't waste your money having someone else to assemble it... because it was so easy. NOW it is HEAVY getting it out of the box... I am 225 pounds and I found it a little heavy to move by myself... but I did it
This is a wonderful product! However, there is one feature I do not like. Being 6 foot 4 makes the fan useless for me since I can't feel it --- but I am sure for shorter users it might suit their needs. I am looking for an exercise bike and after my WONDERFUL experiences with THIS PRODUCT from Horizon I will have to look at their products first.
Thank you all so much for your reviews!!!!!!
Hard to assemble August 5, 2010 Donald M. Martin (usa) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wife and I took a few hours over several days to put treadmill together. Then we couldn't figure out how to apply silicone. Son in law did this for us We're senior citizens and admitedly no mechanics but if we had it to do over we'd pay someone to put it together. It works fine and we use it regularly as it's too hot to exercise outside.

the shipment of the product was on time.
Its a little harder to setup the equipment.
Working fine, no issues and like the IPOD connection and speakers.
I used to hate excercise July 14, 2010 Tiffany Chisolm 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Got this a few weeks ago. I used to run a bit about 15 years ago, but haven't done much since and surprisingly, I've gained weight. I finally decided, after alot of research, a treadmill (particularly this one, based on reviews/affordability) was the way to go. I had major fears that I'd make excuses and avoid working out. But after 3 weeks of gradually intensive 30 minute interval workouts as soon as I get up, I've noticed an almost immediate change in the way my clothes fit, as well as increased energy throughout the day. I made the mistake of weighing myself a week after I started, but after ignoring my body for many years, I should have expected to gain some muscle weight, which I did. At this point, I'm very confident that when I weigh myself in a couple of weeks, there will be a noticeable change. Some advice for the lazy: workout immediately in the morning, before you can talk yourself out of it. Morning workouts also keep me feeling great throughout the day. I honestly can't say if this machine is better than others, but it's sturdy, easy to construct, and does what you need it to do. I have had no issues whatsoever with it, and I get a great workout. I've become a believer, and that is the only reason why I'm taking the time to write a review. Great product.
